1. Who these guidelines apply to
These guidelines apply to everyone who uses NaijaMingle, in video calls and in text chat, including people who never create any kind of account. They form part of our Terms of Service.
NaijaMingle is operated by Munar Africa, a business based in Lagos, Nigeria that is currently completing company registration. Munar Africa is not yet an incorporated company, no registration number is claimed, and nothing on this page should be read as describing a limited liability company. Our full street address is available on written request.
2. The short version
- You must be 18 or older. No exceptions.
- Treat the person on the other side as a real person. Ask before anything sexual, and stop the moment you are asked to.
- Never record, screenshot or share someone without their permission.
- Never share intimate images, and never pressure anyone else to send them.
- Do not ask a stranger for money, bank details, gift cards or cryptocurrency.
- Do not share your home address, workplace, school, ID documents or financial details with a stranger.
- If something feels wrong, use Report and Block and end the conversation.
3. Prohibited conduct
The following conduct is prohibited in any part of the Service, including in conversation, in what you display on camera, and in links or text you send. This list is not exhaustive; conduct that is clearly against its purpose is also prohibited.
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats and intimidation, including hate speech, slurs and sustained unwanted contact.
- Sexual exploitation, coercion, pressure, degradation and abuse, including pressuring someone for sexual acts or images.
- Any sexual content involving a person under 18, any sexualisation of a minor, and any child sexual abuse material. This is a criminal offence and will be reported to the authorities.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including sharing or threatening to share someone's intimate images, and "sextortion".
- Scams, fraud, blackmail and extortion, including romance scams, investment pitches, fake prizes, crypto schemes and requests for gift cards or transfers.
- Deceptive impersonation of another person, a public figure, a company or a NaijaMingle moderator.
- Doxxing and abusive disclosure of personal information, including addresses, phone numbers, workplace, school, family details or identity documents.
- Unlawful recording or distribution of conversations, including screenshots or screen recordings taken without permission.
- Spam, advertising, solicitation, malicious automation, scraping, and any attempt to manipulate matching, reporting or enforcement systems.
- Any other unlawful or dangerous conduct, including promotion of self-harm, violence, weapons, illegal drugs or criminal activity.
4. Consent and ending a conversation
Consent must be clear, informed, voluntary and continuous, and only an adult can give it. Someone staying in a conversation is not consent to anything else. If a person says no, changes their mind, or asks you to stop or to end the call, stop immediately.
Either person can end a conversation at any time, for any reason, without explanation. Leaving, skipping or blocking is not an insult and must not be treated as one. Do not attempt to reconnect with someone who ended a conversation or blocked you.
Do not record a conversation. Do not ask someone to do something on camera that they have not clearly agreed to. Do not pressure anyone to remove clothing, show their face, or move to another platform.
5. Keeping yourself safe
- Share as little identifying information as possible. The person you are talking to has not been verified.
- Never send money, bank details, card details, gift cards, cryptocurrency or account credentials to anyone you met here.
- Treat urgent requests, dramatic stories and pressure to move to another app as warning signs.
- Check that your camera shows only what you intend it to show. Backgrounds can reveal your address, workplace or family.
- Take a break and end a conversation that is making you uncomfortable. You owe a stranger nothing.
- If you meet someone in person, tell someone you trust, meet in a public place, and arrange your own transport.
6. Reporting
Use the Report action during a conversation. Choose the closest reason and, if you can, add a short description of what happened. Reports go to a restricted moderation queue that only authorised staff can access.
A report also blocks the participant and ends the conversation. You will see a confirmation with a reference once the report has actually been stored; if the submission fails, you will be told and can try again.
You do not need to report in order to leave. If you are unsure whether something is a breach, report it and let a moderator decide. Deliberately false reports made to harm another user are themselves a breach.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the Nigerian Police Force or emergency services. For suspected child sexual abuse material, report it to us and to the appropriate authorities.
7. What we do about violations
A person reviews reports. Depending on what we find, we may take no action, record a note, issue a warning, suspend access for a period, or permanently restrict the anonymous identity involved.
Where a report involves an apparent criminal offence, particularly involving a minor, we may preserve the related safety record and report it to law enforcement or another competent authority where the law permits or requires it.
We may act immediately, including disconnecting a conversation or restricting access, where we consider the risk serious.
8. Limits of enforcement
NaijaMingle is anonymous by design. A restriction applies to the anonymous identifier and technical signals available to us at the time. It cannot guarantee that a determined person will not return using a different browser, device or network, and we do not claim otherwise.
We do not monitor conversations in real time and we do not record them, so our ability to act depends on reports and on technical signals. Reporting is the most effective thing you can do.
9. Appeals and mistakes
If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, email munar.africa@gmail.com with any reference you have and a short explanation. A person will review it.
We would rather correct a mistake than leave it in place, but we will not reverse a decision where the evidence shows a serious breach.
Contact us
Questions about this document, privacy requests, safety reports and legal notices can all be sent to munar.africa@gmail.com. This is the only official contact channel for NaijaMingle at this time; please treat messages arriving from any other address with suspicion.
We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days. Safety reports submitted through the app reach our moderation queue and do not depend on email.
